“Singles,” Korea’s only local magazine for confident singles, has published photos of PARK HYUNG SIK, who announced a radical transformation in his acting with the drama “Buried Hearts.”

In the released stills, PARK HYUNG SIK completed the image by creating an intense atmosphere with his piercing gaze and calm expression. PARK HYUNG SIK will meet viewers as Seo Dong Ju, an ambitious hacker, in the SBS drama “Buried hearts,” which is set to premiere on February 14. In the teaser video released earlier, PARK HYUNG SIK predicted a drastic transformation in his acting with a coldness and dark tone completely different from the existing image, raising expectations.
“I think we all have our own treasure island. But I think this shows how fierce, mean, and vicious my treasure island can become when it’s about to be taken away by others. In the process, an individual’s desire and ambition collide. While filming this work, I thought a lot about what my treasure island is and what I should aim for,” said PARK HYUNG SIK.
PARK HYUNG SIK expects this work to be a turning point as an actor. He said, “I thought there would be a perception or still image of actor PARK HYUNG SIK. So when this work came, it was so amazing, and I was curious and grateful to see what the director saw in me. It was the actor’s calling to show different sides, but the time was not right and it was not easy to meet such works, but after growing old after serving in the military, I thought I could finally show you a new side.”
Regarding his character Seo Dong Ju, PARK HYUNG SIK said, “I thought Seo Dong Ju was an arrogant person with a special memory called photo memory. He is a confident person who wants to use his abilities to achieve his ambitions. However, he is not wise enough to put himself in a corner,” expressing a deep understanding of the character.

Regarding the goals and directions he is pursuing as an actor, he said, “I want to become an actor who breaks his fixed image and goes beyond it, just like James McAvoy in Mr. Knight Charmalon’s film ’23 Identity.’ I found it amazing to see him express multiple personalities in ’23 Identity.’ I guess he is an actor who is constantly seeking novelty. I think it is the most fun and I feel alive when I whip myself to expand my experience and emotions.”
SBS drama ‘Buried Hearts,’ which will showcase PARK HYUNG SIK‘s radical transformation as an actor, is set to premiere at 10 p.m. SKT on Friday, February 14.
