PARK JIN YOUNG
Actor PARK JIN YOUNG has revealed that he followed a grueling diet for three months to achieve a muscular figure.

During an interview with News 1 about the film “High five” (directed by Kang Hyun Chul) at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the morning of May 28, PARK JIN YOUNG said, “I remember the character had to have a strong body.“
“I was given the script for the film from the beginning, and when I saw the final fight scene in the second half, it was overwhelming. The character has superpowers, so he’s strong even when he’s not feeling well. I thought about what I should do if he had a powerful power, because I thought it would be better to match the character’s physique as much as possible rather than appear dull due to his overpowering power. The director also thought that was right,” he said.
PARK JIN YOUNG drew attention by adding:
“I ate chicken breast, cherry tomatoes, sweet potatoes, and salads for two to three months, except for a few cheat days on the weekends.”
This allowed me to portray the character well while maintaining good physical shape. PARK JIN YOUNG said, “There was a side effect: I was eager to film the scene and thought I was going to die after eating Chinese food alone. My stomach turned upside down, and I was supposed to eat porridge immediately, but I ate and drank almost ignorantly, and the result was terrible.“
“When I was an idol, I didn’t need to diet. I don’t think I could gain weight no matter what I ate. I think my physique has changed since my discharge. In the army, I had to eat properly and sleep well. I gained a lot of weight. I gained 10 kilograms after exercising a lot,” said PARK JIN YOUNG.
“I shot a play right after my demobilization. When I suddenly lost weight, my body was overloaded, like a yo-yo. I still have to exercise four to five times a week so that it adapts naturally to my body; I’m trying to stabilize it,” he explains.

“High five” is a comedic work about five people who accidentally acquire superpowers through organ transplants and meet those who covet their abilities. It’s the latest work from director Kang Hyung Chul, who wrote “Speed scandal,” “Sunny,” “Tazza-The hidden card,” and “Swing kids.”
In the film, PARK JIN YOUNG plays Young Chun, a new Protestant leader who has been rejuvenated after a pancreas transplant.
