YOUNG K from DAY6 joins the OST lineup for JTBC’s new weekend drama Good Boy with the release of the track “나무가 될게” (Litt: I’ll be a tree) today.
YOUNG K, a member of the band DAY6, has lent his voice to the second part of the original soundtrack for JTBC’s weekend drama “Good boy”. Part 2 of the OST, titled “나무가 될게”, sung by YOUNG K, will be released on June 8 at 6 PM (KST) on major music streaming platforms.
The song features a gentle piano arpeggio layered with YOUNG K’s warm and sentimental vocals, creating an intimate and heartfelt atmosphere—as if reading a handwritten letter. From the opening notes, an emotional humming introduces the track, followed by a comforting line: “You can rest now. My shadow will be your shelter” (쉬어도 돼, 나의 그림자가 그늘이 되어 줄게)—a message that gently soothes the listener’s heart.
The track was composed and written by “Good Boy’s” music director Heo Seong-jin, along with DUNK and MLC, who worked together to translate the emotional depth of the drama into music. The lyrics mirror the relationship between the characters Dong-joo (played by Park Bo-gum) and Hanna (played by Kim So-hyun), capturing their unspoken promise to protect each other despite life’s challenges.
As DAY6’s lead vocalist and bassist, YOUNG K is active not only within the group but also as a solo artist and frequent OST contributor. Known for his solid musicality and emotionally honest lyrics, he brings a wide range of feelings to life through song. With this latest release, he adds even greater emotional depth to the storytelling of Good Boy.
“나무가 될게,” sung by YOUNG K as Part 2 of the Good Boy OST, is available starting June 8 at 6 PM (KST) on all major online music platforms.
