EUNCHAN, a member of the group TEMPEST, took on his very first challenge as a parent.
On June 13, the official SNS channel of the Green Umbrella Association released a video titled “태어나서 처음 잘생긴 사람을 본 아기의 반응은? (A Baby’s Reaction to Seeing a Handsome Person for the First Time) (feat. TEMPEST EUNCHAN).”
This experimental video was made to promote the family foster care program, which for 22 years has been helping 4,200 children under protection each year to grow up in a loving home. Through EUNCHAN’s experience as a “foster uncle,” the video captures the genuine emotions of a “real family” formed during his time with the baby.
In the video, EUNCHAN visits a household without any prior information. At 24 years old, he receives a note from the 24-month-old baby that says “raise me,” which visibly unsettles him. However, he quickly tries to connect by putting a microphone on the baby, introduces himself as “uncle” when the baby calls him “dad,” and begins to bond. Despite some awkward moments, he plays and communicates with the baby, gradually deepening their relationship.
EUNCHAN then goes grocery shopping holding the baby’s hand, helping the baby pick out foods. He shares ice cream at the baby’s eye level, carefully wipes the baby’s mouth, and shows attentive care. He finishes by preparing the baby’s favorite dish—spaghetti—creating a daily life that feels just like a real uncle and nephew.
After learning about the foster care program, EUNCHAN shared, “Today I got to personally experience what it’s like to be a foster uncle. Foster parents who take on the role of mom and dad for years are truly admirable. I hope more children in protective care can grow up in warm, loving environments.”
Finally, EUNCHAN gave a heartfelt message to the baby: “Thank you for playing with your uncle. I hope you grow up well and become an amazing person.”
Meanwhile, TEMPEST recently carried out active promotions in Korea with their sixth mini-album “RE: Full of Youth”. On June 21, they will perform at “THE SPARK in VIETNAM 2025″ at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi, and will continue their global activities with the release of their new digital single “MY WAY” on July 23, which was chosen as the opening theme for the Japanese anime Chunan Jinseong Fighter.
