Solo sensation JEON SOMI, who is generating explosive buzz with the pre-release of her new track “EXTRA” during Waterbomb 2025, will make a special appearance on “Surprise TV Mystery” (신비한 TV 서프라이즈) airing on MBC on July 27.
Known for her natural beauty, unique aura, and captivating performances, JEON SOMI will take on the challenge of the theme “EXTRA”, which shares the name of her latest song, on “Surprise TV Mystery”.
Having moved on from her “high-teen girl” image to explore more mature emotional depth, JEON SOMI is opening a new chapter in her career. She will appear as a mysterious woman in the show’s Incredible Story segment, unveiling a previously unseen side of her charm in a mysterious and enigmatic atmosphere.
During filming, despite a weather warning for heavy rain, JEON SOMI gave her all in a scene that required her to run through a deep forest. Even with scratches on her legs and burns caused by the harsh conditions, she remained fully immersed in the role without showing a hint of exhaustion.
To fully embody her character, JEON SOMI personally prepared a white dress and a wig that radiated a mysterious aura, leaving the production team impressed by her striking appearance.
JEON SOMI also shared that she has been a longtime fan of the show Surprise, expressing her genuine admiration during her scene with Kim Ha Young, the show’s iconic actress. She even formed a connection with a parrot, her scene partner, staying completely absorbed in her role as the enigmatic woman.
The episode featuring JEON SOMI, titled “Incredible Story: The Savior” (언빌리버블 스토리 : 구원자), tells the story of a woman (played by Kim Ha Young) who happens to raise a parrot gifted by a mysterious stranger (played by Jeon Somi). But the bird begins to repeatedly call out the name of an unknown woman… Soon after, a strange man arrives in tears. And under the silent gaze of the mysterious woman, the husband’s dark secret is finally revealed.
The special episode of “Surprise TV Mystery”, featuring JEON SOMI’s guest appearance, will air this Sunday, July 27 at 10:40 a.m. KST on MBC.
