The singer and painter SOLBI has practiced sharing for thirteen consecutive years.
On December 16, SOLBI visited the Gyeongdongwon protection and care center for infants and young children, located in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, where she spent a happy time with the children on the occasion of the year-end. She also delivered a financial donation for the children, thus sharing a special act of kindness.
Having been engaged in volunteer activities since 2013, for the thirteenth consecutive year, SOLBI once again this year personally planned and prepared recreational activities for the children. She invited KIM DONG HA, known for his stand-up comedy, to serve as master of ceremonies; KIM DONG HA gladly accepted, offering a joyful moment not only to the children but also to the teachers. Actor SONG LI WOO also actively participated in SOLBI’s volunteer activities, getting down to the children’s level.
SOLBI did not forget gifts for the children. XOPLAY Co., Ltd. supported toys from “신비아파트” for the second consecutive year, while the Theodore Roosevelt Foundation offered Teddy Bear plush toys, joining SOLBI’s warm initiative. In addition, Haebangchon Dak, as last year, supported the event again this year by providing medicinal chicken, taking charge of a lunch meal for the children.
Regarding these annual acts of sharing and volunteering, SOLBI stated:
“I feel that it is only after meeting the children that I can truly conclude a year. I want to let them know that every year there are older sisters, older brothers, aunts, and uncles who support them from the shadows. Material donations are of course important, but above all I wish to have a positive impact by communicating directly and exchanging with the children.”
The director of Gyeongdongwon, SHIN SEUNG JOO, shared: “In our facility, SOLBI’s visit has become an unmissable year-end event. The children also look forward to this moment,” continuing: “It is not easy to come every year, and we are truly grateful to her for also bringing so many gifts.”
Meanwhile, SOLBI recently made her debut as a screenwriter by writing the short drama “전 남친은 톱스타”, and shows various facets of herself on the YouTube channel “솔비 이즈 백”. She is devoting herself intensely to her artistic work in preparation for her solo exhibition scheduled for next year.
