TOP MEDIA’s group UP10TION, with members KUHN, BIT-TO, KOGYEOL, SUNYOUL, HWANEE, GYUJIN and XIAO, have just made their comeback with their 10th mini-album “NOVELLA” and the main track “Crazy about you” .

The 10th mini album [Novella] is … It’s an album that contains the feelings of remembering happy times and remembering us together back then! KOGYEOL: The title song of this album “Crazy about you” is a song that expresses the desperate desire for what I sound like while remembering the memories of times gone by. KSTATION TV was given the opportunity to ask a few questions in writing, to prevent the virus from spreading, to the members of UP10TION. And remember, KSTATION TV had appealed to STAYTIONS (followers of our media) to allow them to ask questions to the members. Five STAYTIONS were chosen and the UP10TION group answered their questions. Q.1 After 7 months you are back with your 10th mini-album “NOVELLA”, how do you feel?
KUHN: I’m nervous and hope HONEY10 like it.
KOGYEOL: I was looking forward to it because it’s a new concept.
BIT-TO: First of all, we’re thankful that we can come back with a new song and show HONEY10 a new performance, after a long time.
SUNYOUL: I’m always thirsty for the stage, so if I’m not working, I think my daily time feels a bit meaningless to me. So, I’m still excited and happy to have our return.
GYUJIN: I am so happy and proud to show another performance at HONEY10 after this long time! And it’s a shame that we can’t meet in person due to the pandemic phenomenon.
HWANHEE: The song “Crazy about you”, itself, is my style, so I’m a little embarrassed to come back with a sad song, but I’m excited and happy to meet HONEY10.
XIAO: I can’t wait to get on stage and show HONEY10 our performance. It’s always so exciting and fun to be on stage. Day after day, I am impatient and excited.
Q.2 During the preparation of this new album (recording in the studio, shooting the MV …), do you have any significant episodes to tell us?
UP10TION: When we recorded the album, the members did so well that the recording ended very quickly. I remember that a member who was waiting in the back got like a “baton touch” as soon as he went to the bathroom.
Certain we almost caught a cold, because it was so cold, while filming the clip, but I think it was the most fun clip of all. And the setting was so pretty that I took a lot of pictures, and there was a cat on the set, and he was so cute, cute I couldn’t take my eyes off it.
Q.3 KUHN, BIT-TO or even XIAO, several of you participate in the writing of the lyrics of the songs. How do you find your inspiration?
KUHN: I tend to draw inspiration from experiences, movies and dramas.
BIT-TO: Usually I add lyrics that match the overall story.
XIAO: Listening to different songs, I think in advance about my favorite genre and the songs I want to try out as a group, and when I start to prepare the album, I discuss them with the composers and do them one by one. And I love the moving songs and lyrics, so I think I mostly do them.
Q.4 This 10th mini album is called “NOVELLA”, a story that has a beginning and an end, and, the last song is called “Sad ending” creating a feeling of worry among your fans, how can you do that reassure them?
KUHN: I want to change the title to “Happy ending”.
KOGYEOL: I’ll be there until the end when HONEY10 can see me.
BIT-TO: Hope you don’t worry. ;).
SUNYOUL: The “tracklist” is only a “tracklist”! Our story will never end.
GYUJIN: It’s not over until it’s over! Comfort!!
HWANHEE: Our story isn’t over yet, so I want to tell you not to worry !!
XIAO: I want to tell you that we still have time, so let’s make some beautiful memories one by one, and I want to tell you that we are so happy, reassured and grateful to have the HONEY10, thanks to HONEY10, we can make a back in force and communicate with them. Thanks forever.
Q.5 With each album, the group grows and matures. For you, what has evolved, matured with this new opus?
KUHN: Through this album you can see the growth of UP10TION in the emotional aspects.
KOGYEOL: Can’t that mean that UP10TION is mature now, that they can sing breakout songs?
BIT-TO: It’s a calm song that seems to have matured in the emotional part.
SUNYOUL: Over time people have a variety of emotions and many feelings that add up, and UP10TION seems to have grown and matured in relation to these emotions.
GYUJIN: I think everyone’s emotions have become more mature! If it was UP10TION as a rookie, I would have thought a lot about how to be more emotional when preparing the album, but I think it’s an album that better integrates maturity with the time that passes after 1 year, 2 years ….
HWANHEE: I think we improved our live performances by practicing a lot!
XIAO: Now the time of the 7 years since our beginnings is approaching, and the precious time and the steps that we have taken together seem to make us grow and mature.
Q.6 The management of covid19 is improving and is more and more controlled in different countries. Korean groups are going on tour again, is UP10TION planning to meet fans from all over the world?
KUHN: Yeah, we want to do that too. I miss the HONEY10 so much all over the world. 😥 ㅠ ㅠㅠㅠ
KOGYEOL: I want it !!!
BIT-TO: We don’t have fixed tour dates yet, but we really want to meet you.
SUNYOUL: If I get the chance, I would love to meet you anytime.
GYUJIN: If I get the chance, I want to go see HONEY10 overseas !!!
HWANHEE: I want to meet you. We also miss you 😥 ㅠ ㅠㅠㅠ
XIAO: Of course we’re hungry for touring performances and we want it.
Q.7 We have met you several times, for press showcases or television programs. You always have a smile and are dynamic. But we know that fatigue “off camera” can be present because of the activity, the pressure. How do you deal with this “off camera” and this fatigue?
KUHN: I tend to sleep a lot. I rest while watching movies.
KOGYEOL: I sleep a lot and save a lot of energy when I’m resting.
BIT-TO: Sleep is best when I’m tired. Talking with the members also relieved my fatigue.
SUNYOUL: I tend to rest at home without doing anything. I think exercise and sleep are the best.
GYUJIN: Either go home, take a bath, or go to bed early!
HWANHEE: I have good energy. But I still sleep a little. MDR
XIAO: I either walk away or sleep these days. And I go for a walk too.
Q.8 How do you see yourself at 30? And conversely, if you look back, just before your debut, what advice would you give yourself?
KUHN: I think I am a child who has become an adult. The time that I saw far away seems to pass in the blink of an eye.
KOGYEOL: I think I’m a mature person, and just before my debut, I want to say to myself: ‘It’s hard, but courage !!’.
BIT-TO: Oh … I’m scared. Bit-to, just before your debut, you will be loved as a gift in the future.
SUNYOUL: I can’t wait to see how much more my singing skills will have improved at the age of 30.
GYUJIN: At 30, I can’t even imagine it! If that’s any advice, I’d like to tell you hurry up and wake up!
HWANHEE: I hope I can sing at 30, and if I can get back to myself right before my debut, I would like to tell myself to perform with no regrets!
XIAO: At 30, I think I would still be moving towards something. What I want to tell myself right before my debut is that I want to be strong and say more things. I want to cheer you up more than you think.

BIT-TO: I think it’s KUHN. I think the KUHN part of that title song is the coolest.
SUNYOUL: I think it suits everyone.
GYUJIN: I think it’s XIAO! It’s always cool to see you evolve little by little, wondering what’s cooler, and if you look at the outfits on this album, you’ll know why it’s XIAO!
HWANHEE: Me …? ㅋㅋ ㅋㅋㅋ I always think I am the best and I want to perform, therefore I am the best!
XIAO: I think it’s the rappers this time. Compared to other songs, their parts are more important and I personally like the choreography.

XIAO: Hmm … When the expressions, the dance and the gestures fit perfectly on stage?
For SUNYOUL: Congratulations on your first musical debut! What was the most difficult part in interpreting your character? And also as a music fan, what musical would you join if ever you had the chance? (Fan : Zen Ellah Divino)
SUNYOUL: What was difficult was to make the tone of voice. I think it was hard to match him because I was told to act more manly, compared to my basic tone. I love musicals so much that I want to do it again if I get the chance (any).
What is your best memory since the start of your career? (Fan : Pauline-Leane Jacq)
KUHN: The best thing is the members living together.
KOGYEOL: The eyes of the fans watching me.
BIT-TO: There was a time when we worked hard and couldn’t sleep every day. Even though I was really sick and struggling, I had the best memory of working hard with the urge to show you a great performance. I think I’ll cry while listening to “Crazy about you” looking back on that time.
SUNYOUL: It’s always nice to be on stage with the members of UP10TION.
GYUJIN: It’s good to get the attention and love of many people, especially HONEY10.
HWANHEE: It’s fun and nice to have an inseparable band called UP10TION. lol
XIAO: I’m always happy to have reliable members beside me! It’s good that we are not bored and that we are always busy. It is good to complete one by one with the members. I love them all !
