Group POW has completed its comeback activities by establishing itself as a “boyfriend” of fans in Korea and overseas.

POW wrapped up promotion for their second EP album “BOYFRIEND” with SBS’s “Inkigayo” on November 17. Starting with KBS2’s “Music Bank,” POW appeared on MBC’s “Show! Music Core,” SBS FiL’s “The Show,” and MBC M’s “Show! Champion” to perform the title track “Boyfriend.”
POW, who transformed into a reckless boy to win love, added richness to the stage with kitschy yet powerful choreography. They showed their team colors, “Refreshing X Power,” while melting their soft charisma, complementing a more daredevil atmosphere.
They attracted more attention with their bold performances and live performances using handheld microphones, followed by a style that matched “Boyfriend.” POW showed the standard “boyfriend look” in every music show, from a refreshing sailor look to a casual hoodie, jeans, shirts and pink knitwear, giving off five colors of five people.
POW, who showed their musical growth by trying a rap part for the first time in “Boyfriend,” gave a variety of performances by unveiling the stage of their track “Bae” for the first time on a music program. While they showed an energetic childhood in the title track “Boyfriend,” POW gave a groovy-style performance through “Bae,” showing the synergy of the “vocal group” with dreamy harmony.
Upon their comeback after about nine months, POW showed activities that maximized the group’s identity and were praised for their visual transformation as well as their ability to mature. POW achieved their best performance, recording second place on Genie Music’s real-time chart at the same time as their comeback, while foreign media in Korea also paid attention to their activities.
Foreign media outlets including Billboard and NME released interviews, calling POW a K-pop outsider and highlighting their evolution. Recently, he appeared alone as a K-pop artist at the TikTok Awards in Thailand, and personally demonstrated global interest by joining the Jingle Ball Tour, the largest year-end festival in the United States. Expectations are high for the next stage of POW, who successfully concluded its activities for “Boyfriend” under such interest.
