HEO GA YOON
HEO GA YOON, former member of the group 4MINUTE, returns as an essayist.

On July 28, HEO GA YOON published an essay titled “가장 낯선 바다에서 가장 나다워졌다 (It’s in the most unfamiliar sea that I became the most myself)“, in which she recounts the time she spent in Bali, Indonesia. This book traces her journey from the glorious days in the spotlight to the moment she was able to find herself on the stage of life.
During a period of doubt and fatigue, while seeking to soothe her mind and escape reality even for a moment, HEO GA YOON found unexpected moments of happiness in Bali. What started as a simple trip became a familiar daily routine, and gradually a true routine, a transition that marked the beginning of a life not just “seeming happy,” but truly happy.
In Bali, where she met a new version of herself, HEO GA YOON shares with simplicity the moments she experienced not as a member of an idol group or as an actress, but simply as “Gaga,” coming from Korea. Her sincere confessions remind us that living fully in the present moment is more important than rushing to reach goals. And it is these days, lived one by one, that eventually build the person we become.

HEO GA YOON said:
“When I started writing, I was more scared than excited, but today, I’m happy to be able to share my story through writing. I hope this book can bring a bit of strength and comfort to those who are at a crossroads in their lives or going through difficult times.”
HEO GA YOON debuted in 2009 as part of the group 4MINUTE, then began her acting career in 2012 with the MBC drama “Light and shadows”. She later appeared in “Let’s eat 2″ (tvN, 2015), the films “Daddy you, daughter me” (2017), “Search out” (2020), and “Sing a song” (2022). Recently, she spent time in Bali, where she wrote “가장 낯선 바다에서 가장 나다워졌다”.
